A common condition affecting people of all ages. It occurs when your tears are unable to keep the surface of the eye sufficiently lubricated.
Common Symptoms:
- Excessive tearing/watery eyes
- Eyes feel irritated, dry, itchy or burning
- Blurred vision or fluctuations in your vision
- A feeling that there is something in your eye
A chronic inflammatory condition of the eyelids and is caused by a build-up of bacteria on the eyelid margin. Establishing daily lid hygiene is key to the management of Blepharitis.
Common Symptoms:
- Itchy eyelids
- Red eyes
- Flaky skin
- Crusty eyelashes
Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) is a chronic condition which occurs when the glands in the eyelids don’t produce enough oil, or the oil that is produced is of poor quality.
Common Symptoms:
- Sore, red, inflamed eyelids
- Excessive tearing/watery eyes
- Burning or gritty sensation in the eyes
- Sensitivity to light
Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) affects the retina at the back of your eye and causes the gradual loss of sight as people get older.
Common Symptoms:
- Distorted/blurry vision
- Difficulty reading
- Poor colour recognition
- Glare in bright light
Seasonal Allergic Conjunctivitis (SAC) is an eye condition which occurs throughout the year – usually early spring through summer and into autumn.
Common Symptoms:
- Swelling of eyelids
- Itchy water eyes
- Blurred vision
- Sore, red inflamed eyelids
